I made it

Cash's worm

This is likely a picture of me saying, "keep your tip up" and Cash saying....well....NO. Fishing is all about patience. These photos were from Father's Day. I think Brent thought that going fishing meant that he was going to land the big one. What a surprise when he spent the majority of the time getting line out of trees, trying to get worms back into the container, pointing out whose bobber was whose, and telling Cash to keep his tip out of the water. Maybe next time he can go solo.

And.....I'm 30.....I made it. 1 marriage, 2 babies, a degree in Forestry, working on a Nursing degree, a dog, a horse, a blog, and 15 extra pounds later. Whew. I made it. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and here's to another 30 great years!!

Farmer's Market

We hit up the farmer's market last weekend -- great fun and cute stuff! :) Maci wanted to wear her Carhartt overalls, so I let her. Cash was as pleasant as ever (look at his face where he's sitting in the stroller - priceless) -- he's not much for photo ops. Some day he will be and we'll have nothing but goofy faces and nose picking pictures.

I'd better get back to my studies - it's hard to convince Brent that I am actually studying (and that's why I can't scrub the toilets with a toothbrush) when more posts keep showing up on the blog. I've still got some fishing pictures to put up....some great worm shots.

More S'mores Please!!!

Casher got to have his first S'mores last Saturday.... Big shocker, he really liked it. Its a wonder sometimes that the kid doesn't go 350. Especially after a party like the pig roast. He does not have any problem with going up to just about anyone and saying "a bite". Trust me, we are working on breaking of this habit. In no way, shape, or form, does our child need to eat off of anyone else's plate. It's not like we don't feed him enough.

I also threw in a picture of Mama and Maci-Mo from last Saturday's pig roast. Since Amy generally does the blog, there is definitely a shortage of Amy pic's on the site.

P.S. A Quick FYI to any of our blog followers who were unaware what this Friday (June 24th) is, Amy turns the big 3-0!!!!

Happy Father's Day

Well....Father's day has come and gone and my heart hurts. Yep, you read it right. We took Cash fishing -- at least that's what we'll call it -- it was more like this: "I want to get out, I want to get out, I want...." (you get it).....after explaining that we're working on it we moved right along...."that's MY fishing pole!", "I cast it", etc., etc.. We're at a trying time these days. I'm hoping it's over. I paid my dues, put in my time....one weekend is more than enough!

We did have a fun time today, minus some of the yelling and crying. Nobody caught fish, but Brent had to get in the water to get Cash's line untangled from the tree (remind you of anything or anyone Dad??), he had a blast playing with the worms, ate more than enough Cheetos for the year, had a great bbq with friends and went to bed early....well....at least some of us. I'd better get back to my homework now....I'm finishing up one class tonight then will have the rest of the week to focus on just 2 classes. Starting next week I'll be in Microbiology at the main campus 4 days a week, 2.5 hours a day. 5 weeks of that and it's vaca time!

We sure hope everyone had a fun and relaxing Father's day.....someone ought to! :) I left our camera at the neighbors, so Father's day photos to come.

Hey Dad!

You're the best Dad a girl could ever have!

Love ya,

Shorty

Like at Grandma's

Like at Grandma's house....minus the Toy Story theme.

Livin' it up in the new bed.

Crazy girl!

Cash has wanted a pillow and bed like the one at Grandma's since we got back from Pullman. So.....we went for it. I think I had more fun picking things out for the bed than he did, but he sure seems to be enjoying it. Now.....to keep him in there past 8 on a weekend and I've got this parenting thing licked. Babies.

Sheesh - next time you come over, I'll make sure to dust off the camera. :)

Daddy daycare

Brent has been super Dad since I have gone back to school. He has been getting up with the kids and taking them to daycare, picking them up from school, making them dinner, giving baths, and potty training Maci. Yep, you read that right. We have always heard that you should not worry about potty training boys until age 3 (that's not going to work here....I can't take adult sized diapers with adult sized contents much longer). So....he's started working on Maci's potty training -- why wouldn't you? Isn't it true that girls are more mature than boys? That girls are more advanced than boys? That girls are just plain better than boys?? I like this already.

Okay, back to potty training. What better way to potty train than to just do away with the diaper? Well, it happened. Brent, in all of the stresses of getting two children bathed and in bed, did away with a diaper for Maci. The poor little girl made it from 9:30 to about 4:00 am before she couldn't take the pee bath anymore. If we keep this up, she'll be potty trained by 4 months.

And Brent....don't you worry, forgetting a diaper is a very minor thing in the grand scheme of life....but it sure is funny to share!

Wanted.

** There's lots of things in life that we want....and we don't always get them.

** I don't care what you want.

** Mama wants a new pickup and you don't see that in our driveway.

** Wish in one hand, shit in the other and see which one fills faster.

These are the responses I have given my 2 year old in less than an hour's time. Don't worry, I didn't say shit. That was Brent that taught him that....I'm telling you the truth here. Cash wants everything. My personal favorite is when we tell him what we're having for dinner, he's excited, he's sweet, he's nice, he crawls up in his chair, puts on a pouty face and does the big whiney, snotty, "I WANT IT!". How does any mother make it through this? Maybe I should just hope that Maci doesn't talk until she's 5 and understands what it means when I tell her, 'we don't act like that in this house'.

We went to Billings last weekend to meet up with Brent's folks for the holiday. I've got some pics, but I don't have the time to do the downloading. The kids and I are off to Pullman for the weekend, so I gotta get packed, do a little homework, hit work till 6 and then drive the family truckster to WA. So I'll do double pics when I get back!
